China - Day 425

China - Day 424

Thursday spent a lot of time at work but as much time at home as possible - caught a bug when I was a way in Harbin and have been feeling a bit under the weather - sinuses all bunged up and headaches etc with a dry hacking cough - paracetomol doesnt seem to help and not sleeping

Tuesday 21 March 2017

China - Day 422

Harbin was occupied by the Japanese from about 1932 up to the end of WWII and there is also been a massive impact because of it's proximity to Russia - trade links - the Russians built a railway link for themselves through China so they could trade by sea from ports that weren't frozen for half the year - hence the church - built 1907 - at one time there were around 200,000 Russians living in Harbin

On Tuesday YingYing and I had a hot pot with her mother and father......

Then we visited the horror of Unit 731 where we hooked up with Joel again.

YingYing will stay in Harbin because Ancestors Day is later this week. Joel and I took the train back to Jinzhou. Work tomorrow boo

China - Day 421

China - Day 420

Saturday evening arranged to meet Vicky at the coffee shop for Chinese/English lessons

Sunday evening YingYing and I went to Harbin to see the folk, we took Joel with us and he was invited to dinner

China - Day 419

Saturday afternoon I sat in on one of Wendy's classes to get an idea of what I might teach the kids straight after her - and she was teaching 'coconut'

China - Day 402 - Wednesday 1st March 2017

On Monday I met my English student/Chinese teacher Vicky at my fave coffee shop by Bohai University. This is the pavement outside the coffee shop - the incessant looped advert blaring out is fairly typical of what to expect on the High Street but just have one announcement on loop is enough to drive anyone insane

Vicky and I did a take away order lesson and I followed it up with a bit of practice at a local stall . . . .
