At Shiyan I have a class for a small group of kids and we do 90 minutes work twice a week - the local teacher does some review work for half hour and then we work together for one hour on new material

Friday lunchtime at a new class in Manhattan. I sat in on the first three quarters of an hour when the local teacher did her bit - the parents sit in on the class too - and then I did my three quarters of an hour to augment her work on personal pronouns

China - Day 354
Today was very cold. The first time since I arrived in China that I have experienced that feeling when you breathe in through your nose and you can feel that nasal tingling inside your nostrils. The thermometer only showed -6 deg. but I don't believe it

Wednesday half day in Jinzhou state schools means that Wednesday afternoon is often a busy teaching time for us in our special language school

Big preparation day. Now ready (ish) for the teaching in the weekend ahead. Also was able to do some Chinese homework following my lesson with Winston the day before

Thursday was a bit of a shocker. YingYing has taken a job in Singapore at short notice so is now unable to come with me to Thailand. This has thrown things upside down. On the bright side I now have a set of colorful 2017 StarSplendor souvenir calendars to put up on the wall

Wang could not make the washing machine work yesterday so I called Winston to lend a hand this morning to see what was up. Am guessing though that the problem is with the electrics in the flat rather than the washing machine

Got to bed at 0600 but up for breakfast at 1200 then bus back to Jinzhou for a well-earned rest. Went to my fav cafe in Jinzhou in the afternoon while Wang was doing the housework and washing

Monday trip to Fuxin for a night out and a stop-over
The train trip was a nightmare but we had a great night out in Fuxin with Tim and Nicole
